Forest School
Forest School is a specific approach to learning outside the classroom. It is a long-term approach to education, for children, and young people, it maximises the benefits of learning in the outdoors.
Forest school provides opportunities for the children to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem through first hand experiences.
Our Forest School sessions take place (mostly) in a dedicated area attached to the Stickland’s School site. It is maintained by Forest school Leaders/Parents and people in the local community.
Forest School offers children and young people the opportunity, over repeated visits, to engage with the rich natural diversity of the outdoor environment to help build confidence, sensitivity, resilience and curiosity and encourages children to explore their own innate learning in the richest classroom we have – the outdoors.
We are very lucky to have a fantastic forest school area where the children can independently explore, investigate and learn. The children have opportunities to den build, learn about our local flora and fauna, mix and role-play in the mud kitchen and much much more!
