We are proud to be a CHURCH SCHOOL
We are very proud to be a Church of England school and have very strong links with ‘St Osmond's Church’ in the village. We have termly Collective Worship at the church, as well as some RE lessons and performances. The Melbury Team leads us in weekly collective worship too, which we all look forward to.
We thrive on building strong relationships between teachers, children, parents, carers and the wider community. We believe that creating a safe, happy and positive learning environment enables children to thrive in all aspects of their learning.
We teach through our Christian values: Friendship, Compassion, Perseverance, Truthfulness, Respect and Love.
-
Friendship - Friends love each other the same way Christ loves us (John 15:12-13); Friends challenge each other to meet the highest good (Proverbs 27:17).
-
Compassion - "Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." (Ephesians 4:32)
"Be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble." (1 Peter 3:8)
-
Perseverance - Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him. (James 1:12)
-
Truthfulness -Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another. (Ephisians 4:25)
-
Respect - Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honour. (Romans 12:10)
-
Love - And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. (1 John 4:16-18)
